Online event: TUESDAY 23rd of FEBRUARY– 4:30 pm
The current climate emergency have a negative impact both on large scale and on our day to day life. Every one can actively and consciously contribute to reach the EU goal of carbon neutrality of greenhouse gas emissions in various way. The European Project LIFE CLIVUT (The climatic value of urban trees), has developed a web application to evaluate the ecosystem contribution of trees to the compensation of emissions produced by human activities and is designing best management practices of urban trees to optimize their CO2 storage capacity.
The tool is aimed to carry out the census of private and public trees, which Municipality and citizens can use to evaluate the benefit of the arboreal heritage of the City and to plan the development.
The citizen can easily take a census of his own green area and he will know the benefits provided to people health and to the ecosystem for what concerns life quality and the one of… our Earth!!!
In the webinar the Life Project goals and action, and the tool will were presented by the Professor Flaminia Ventura, the Project Coordinator, the Professor Aldo Ranfa and the Dr. Chiara Proietti of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the University of Perugia.
